Really good trade show today. Got exactly what I wanted; some really flashy jaspers, really NICE smokey quartz in 2 sizes (cause I'm all about that energy and think everyone should see if they FEEL it) and some VERY tiny garnets in a very rare form that will make the perfect gift for a friend. :=)

So, the entries came back from the fair this week. When they are judged it is a point system about creativity, design and technical merit. The judges always leave commentary or critique which I always find a little confusing. This year the judge seemed to most enjoy the piece she gave the red ribbon to.
Last time I entered, I entered woven earrings titled (title required) Honor the Spruce, referring to the native oral tradition about the spruce tree offering sustenance during the harshest winter months, but the judge thought it should have been entered in the Christmas catagory.
It's still fun, I think I have already chosen a design for next year ;+)
